What is abortion?…
Curettage is a general name given to the process of cleaning the inside of the uterus. Terminating an unwanted pregnancy is also an abortion procedure. In addition, curettage technique is used for both diagnosis and treatment in patients who are not pregnant but present with prolonged, abnormal menstrual bleeding or menopausal bleeding.
In what cases?…
Abortion may be necessary in cases where the baby’s heartbeat stops, embryo formation is not observed at all, such as a null pregnancy, or the continuation of the pregnancy would endanger the life of the mother. Curettage is performed to stop bleeding and obtain tissue diagnosis in women with uterine thickening and in patients with abnormal vaginal bleeding.
